Had to wake up at 4am to make a 7a m flight out of Burbank (thankfully not LAX at least). Unfortunately it’s a layover in SFO so it’s gonna be a long day until we get to Seattle around 1pm. Then begins a touristy day in the city with mostly food being the priority. Saturday should be exciting as we are meeting up with a couple of Oppos for an exciting drive through Mt Rainier National Park. Making use of that America the Beautiful pass that I bought. After this, it will have already paid for itself!
Hoping the "Dodge Caravan or similar" that I have reserved at Enterprise at SeaTac turns out to be something more exciting but I expect to get a Nissan Rogue or some bullshit. Ideally hoping to upgrade to something but we shall see.

Brought a rain jacket and umbrella specifically for that purpose! Entertaining to see rain anyways since it's so rare in LA so I don't mind. Seems fitting to get rained on in Seattle and hopefully that means traffic won't be horrid since people might be used to driving in it.

LOL I will guess you are new to driving here. Locals may not react to rain like LA people, but it definitely slows them down - and they are slow to begin with. Traffic can be a nightmare in rainy commuting hours, but hopefully a little lighter with today being a Friday.

Well we aren’t commuting anywhere at least so if it’s too bad in a direction, it’ll be easy enough to just change plans and wait or go elsewhere. Even the threat of rain shuts down LA in every direction. But yeah I’ve never driven in Seattle so it’ll be a new experience. Our only real goal for the day is a nice dinner and probably a movie. So a chill day just taking in the surroundings.

If you don’t need to drive much between 4 and 6 this afternoon, you’ll probably be fine. Just watch out for the inept, and don’t expect speed even on open roads.

Bring a Trailer is doing a happy hour meetup at a restaurant in Seattle that doubles as a car club/storage facility/garage this afternoon, and a Cars & Coffee type meetup tomorrow morning.

Yup its a good time to be off the road. Long day of flying so we will relax, enjoy the soothing rain sounds, and eventually go out for an evening. Avoiding rush hour is my middle name lol.

Even if you don’t go to the event, its worth grabbing a meal at the shop. Fun place for car lovers.

Traffic here doesn’t yet compare to LA or SF, but it is trying (because so many people here are from LA or SF). Have a good time.
